Let’s Talk Episode Structure

Steph: Welcome to Late Night Reads. I'm Steph.

‍Megan: And I'm Megan.

‍Steph: We're excited that you're here.

‍Megan:  Now let's talk about how our episodes are structured. For starters, each episode covers our new book and we alternate genres each week between contemporary romance and romantic. So we're going to have a slightly different episode structure for each genre.

‍Steph: We start off with why we selected the book, our favorite insights about the author, an overview of the trigger warnings, and a final reminder that these episodes do in fact contain spoilers.

‍Megan: Next, each episode jumps into the Talk Tropes to Me section because who doesn't love a good trope? Or a few. In this section, we're going to cover all of the tropes in the book and how the characters bring them to life.

‍Steph: From this point on, the structure of the episode varies based on genre. Let's start with Romanesty.

‍Megan: Our next section is Every Magical Twist, where we give a summary of what happened and deep dive into that world-building.

‍Steph: Then it's time to get hot and steamy where we spill all the details and our thoughts about the spicy chapters. This section is definitely not safe for work.

‍Megan: Next, it's Time to Theorize and we fall down the rabbit hole of our personal theories and the ones you shared with us. We love a good theory, so make sure you send us yours to include in our episode.

‍Steph: Finally, we reveal the moments that made our hearts race and the ones that made us roll our eyes. We talk about what we love, what could have been better, and what we hate.

‍Megan: Now let's talk about the flow for a contemporary romance piece. After we talk tropes, we're going to dive into all the drama and summarize what happened from the first meeting to the countless trials, to falling in love, to the inevitable breakup, followed by the happily ever after.

‍Steph: Then it's time for our strong opinions. We drop a ton of hot takes on the plot, character development, and have absolutely no filter.

‍Megan: And we can't forget to talk about spice. We have a hot and steamy section to chat all things spicy.

Finally, we wrap each episode with our recommendations for other books you might like if you enjoyed reading the book we discussed. We'll also give you a teaser of what to expect in the next episode.
