It depends! We plan to have episodes that only include the two of us as well as episodes that include our fellow book lovers and podcast listeners! We also plan to have special episodes where we chat directly with authors of our favorite books.
We’d love to have you join us for a future episode! We encourage everyone interested to complete our podcast guest application. You’ll share more information about yourself, select a book from our current TBR schedule, and tell us about your strong opinions on the book! We review all submissions and reach out to the individuals we believe would make the best guests for each episode. If you’re not selected, we strongly encourage you to apply for future episodes as we release new TBR schedules.
All guests need to be frequent listeners of the podcast so they have a clear understanding of how our episodes are structured and our conversation style. You also need to have read the book we’ll be covering on the episode and have VERY strong opinions on it! It also helps if you frequently engage with us on social media so we can get to know you before having you join us on an episode. We require all guests to participate in a prep call before we record the podcast episode.
We’re excited to host special episodes where we chat directly with authors on the podcast. Please reach out to us at latenightreadspodcast@gmail.com to discuss being a guest on a special author episode.
We want ALL of your book recommendations! Please submit a book recommendation tell us why you think we should cover the book on the podcast (minus any spoilers!). We review all book recommendations and try to incorporate as many of them as possible into our podcast schedule. We also use book recommendations to add to our personal TBRs which can result in your recommended book being featured by one of us on social media if we love it as much as you do!
We wish we could cover every contemporary romance and romantasy book on the podcast! Since that’s not possible, we use the following criteria for evaluating books to cover on the podcast:
- Has the book already been covered by numerous other fantastic podcasts? If so, then we’re probably not going to cover it. Or, at least not dedicate a full episode to it.
- Have we recently covered any similar books? We like variety so we tend to avoid covering books with similar themes in a short period.
- Does the book have a decent amount of spice? We prefer books with spice. The more, the better.
- Have we previously covered books by this author? If so, how many and when? While we definitely will cover multiple books by the same author, we do try to space out coverage to allow us to highlight as many authors as possible.
- And most importantly…has one of us read it and do we LOVE it? We plan to only cover books on the podcast that at least one of us loved reading.
Typically, we share our TBR schedule for the month approximately two weeks before the month starts. For example, our June TBR schedule would be shared no later than mid-May.
Yes! We LOVE to hear your feedback on the books we’re covering and definitely want to theorize with our listeners! We encourage you to share this information with us via a comment on our social media channels OR contact us directly.
Nope. Our podcast is dedicated to contemporary romance and romantasy books. We may occasionally share short reviews of fantastic books that we’ve read from other genres on social media.

We’re currently limiting the list to only books that one of us has read to ensure all of the information is accurate and aligns with our definitions for spice ratings, tropes, etc. We’re actively adding more books to the list every single week. We encourage you to send us your recommendations for books we should read and add to the list.
We’re always open to engaging with our fellow book lovers. Reach out to us at latenightreadspodcast@gmail.com and let us know more details about your request. We’ll get back to you as quickly as possible.
